Dale Sahlberg's Prose LOVE'S EMBER

In loneliness I knelt seeking grace
but the angels of mercy came not to me,
only she whose eyes penetrated
to the inner sanctum of my soul.

Mesmerized by her
I stood transfixed by the gaze of one born from mystery.

"There is warmth within my wings," she whispered
as I felt the wind wrap me in a cold embrace.

"I want to share" I replied,
"but found no one to add to the flame,
so love's ember slowly died."

love's ember

She beckoned and I accepted ...
ephemeral ecstasy with incarnate agony.
